About Stop Light Rail

The Mission of the Gold Coast Public Transport Alliance (GCPTA) is to obtain and disseminate information in the best interest of all who share in the future direction of the city and call on both levels of Government to engage with all stakeholders to STOP and RE THINK the proposed Gold Coast Rapid Transit System.

Information obtained by the GCPTA has identified inadequacies within the community consultation process for the proposed rapid transit system by TransLink acting for the State Government and the Gold Coast City Council.

There has been insufficient delivery of complete, accurate and critical information regarding key issues.

As such the GCPTA has sourced information which has resulted in guidance that light rail is not the most suitable form of public transport for the Gold Coast creating our mission to STOP LIGHT RAIL and RE THINK GOLD COAST TRANSPORT.

Environment:

The Light Rail System requirement for dedicated corridor and the route of the corridor requires careful consideration so as not to damage the environment
